Willowbrook Mead Primary Academy Admissions Policy Consultation

Background Willowbrook Mead Primary Academy participates in full with the Local Authority’s Fair Access protocol in order that the most vulnerable children are offered a place at a suitable school as quickly as possible. In exceptional circumstances, this may include admitting children above the School’s published PAN. Willowbrook Mead Primary Academy has a Designated Specialist Provision (DSP) unit which has 10 places to cater for pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan detailing a primary need of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Therefore, the School already has a number of pupils with significant SEMH. The School is proposing to limit the number of children in the main school with identified SEMH to ensure effective provision for children with SEMH needs across the school and DSP.  Proposed change The proposed change to the School’s Admissions Policy is to reserve the right to refuse to admit more than 2.5%…
